Happy Sunday!
With Easter right around the corner, I am back to share a fun and easy project using just a few things from your fridge and cupboard. Our little guy loves to decorate and hide Easter eggs. I have really been trying to embrace keeping things simple around our house. Every holiday can be so commercialize and for a while I have been craving creating simple memories using what we already have on hand.
For this I did a quick run through our fridge and cupboard to see what I might have on hand that would create colorful eggs. I used Turmeric for my yellow, red cabbage for my purple, beets for red, spinach for green, and blueberries for blue.
The only other items I needed was a little bit of white vinegar and my hard boiled eggs.
I added two tablespoons of vinegar to a pan of 2 cups of water and added each item of color to the pot of water. I then brought each pan of water to a boil. I repeated this same process for each item of color. I strained each color into a bowl and then let our little guy have fun.
It was so fun to see what color each food item produced. The colors weren’t necessarily vibrant, but more of a soft pastel shade which I loved too.
Thank you for stopping by today!
